Asscher lab-grown diamond reference illustration

Shape & selection guide

Asscher lab-grown diamonds.

The Asscher is a square step cut with cropped corners and a geometric pattern. It is a distinct choice from a square brilliant princess cut. Compare the open centre, corner proportions and visible symmetry rather than expecting the same light pattern as a round.

Compare the same D colour and VS1 clarity preference across weights. Different grades, individual dimensions and visual performance may change the final quote. A report number, material disclosure and imagery of the actual stone are agreed before ordering.

What to check in a asscher diamond

  • Look through the centre in neutral, moving imagery to assess visibility of inclusions.
  • Compare the size of the cropped corners and the balance of the nested step pattern.
  • Check actual width and depth; a higher carat weight need not create proportionately more face-up presence.

Plan the setting around the stone

A simple mounting can leave the stepped pattern visible. If side stones are part of the design, match their scale to the actual centre dimensions, not its carat number alone.

Verify the selected stone’s report and confirm growth origin and any treatment disclosure. Reference images, grades and estimated dimensions on this page do not certify a specific diamond.
