Marquise lab-grown diamond reference illustration

Shape & selection guide

Marquise lab-grown diamonds.

The marquise is long, with a point at each end. Its footprint can make a strong impression, but the measured width and setting design matter as much as length. Avoid choosing solely for the largest stated millimetre dimension.

What to check in a marquise diamond

  • Compare both ends, shoulders and the centreline for a balanced outline.
  • Review centre contrast in moving imagery rather than relying on a claimed ideal ratio.
  • Check both tips and ask how each will be protected during setting and wear.

Plan the setting around the stone

North–south gives a long line across the finger; east–west changes that impression. Your jeweller should confirm tip protection and clearance next to other rings.

Verify the selected stone’s report and confirm growth origin and any treatment disclosure. Reference images, grades and estimated dimensions on this page do not certify a specific diamond.
